Philip Morris Wins Jury Verdict In $340M Smoker Suit

Law360, New York (May 16, 2011, 5:30 PM EDT) -- A New York federal jury sided with Philip Morris USA on Monday in a $340 million suit brought by a lifelong Marlboro smoker who eventually succumbed to lung cancer at age 44, the tobacco company said.

A White Plains, N.Y., jury rejected the complaint on the grounds that Ann Grill did not have primary lung cancer, according to a brief statement by Philip Morris.
