GAO Denies Protest Over Air Force Research Contract

Law360, New York (May 18, 2011, 1:24 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office announced Monday it had supported the Air Force's decision to deny Lawrence Battelle Inc.'s bid for a research contract over concerns about sufficient staff levels.

Lawrence Battelle launched the protest after being denied on Jan. 14 a five-year contract for providing cost estimating, analysis and research services to the Air Force unit that develops electronic systems to gather and analyze information on potentially hostile forces. The contract amount was not specified in the GAO decision.
