Ex-Cozen Partner Gets No Prison Time For Pension Scheme

Law360, New York (May 18, 2011, 1:50 PM EDT) -- A New York state court judge handed an ex-Cozen O'Connor PC partner and former head of the state's Liberal Party a nonprison sentence Wednesday for his role in corrupt schemes at the state pension fund under former Comptroller Alan Hevesi.

"[Ray] Harding's role was not central by any means to the scam," but his actions still "crossed the line," said Judge Bart Stone, who granted Harding a conditional discharge on a misdemeanor securities fraud charge.

Harding pled guilty in October 2009 to felony and misdemeanor violations...
