Conflict Of Interest Derails Enviro Arbitration

Law360, New York (May 19, 2011, 4:07 PM EDT) -- A Texas appeals court on Tuesday affirmed a ruling that tossed an arbitrator's resolution of a contract dispute over Oxy USA Inc.'s 1997 purchase of oil assets from a joint venture of BP Amoco PLC and Shell Oil Co. affiliates, upholding a lower court finding that a conflict of interest tainted the proceedings.
