Ex-Telecom CEO Cops To Foreign Bribery Charge

Law360, New York (May 19, 2011, 9:11 PM EDT) -- The former CEO of Miami-based telecommunications company Latin Node Inc. pled guilty Thursday to conspiring to pay more than $500,000 in bribes to government officials in Honduras in exchange for lowering rates on a long-distance services project.

Jorge Granados, 54, pled guilty in Florida federal court to one count of conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, while prosecutors said in the plea agreement that they would drop the remaining 18 charges against him.
