Adviser Gets 2 Years For Trading On Ex-UBS Banker's Tips

Law360, New York (May 24, 2011, 8:40 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge sentenced an investment adviser Tuesday to more than two years in prison for trading on insider tips he received about health care company mergers from a former investment banker with UBS Securities LLC.

U.S. District Court Judge Paul A. Crotty handed down a 26 month sentence to Alexei P. Koval, 37, in the Southern District of New York after giving Koval's co-conspirator, tipster Igor Poteroba, a lighter sentence in March.
