Attys' Collaboration Fight To Stay In Federal Court

Law360, New York (May 26, 2011, 7:51 PM EDT) -- An Alabama federal judge refused Thursday to remand to state court an Alabama firm's suit claiming Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP agreed to share profits from the firms’ collaboration on high-profile product liability lawsuits, including a multidistrict litigation over the painkiller Bextra.

U.S. District Judge L. Scott Coogler officially rejected Garve W. Ivey PC's bid to remand the case Thursday, after conditionally rejecting it on May 12 as long as Hagens Berman provided evidence of diversity of citizenship.
