SEC Charges Ex-Oracle VP With Insider Trading

Law360, New York (May 15, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the latest case of spousal confidence gone awry, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has accused a former vice president of Oracle Corp. of profiting off of sensitive information gleaned from his wife, an assistant to the top executives of the software company.

On Monday, the SEC charged Christopher M. Balkenhol with insider trading in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, contending that he illegally reaped thousands of dollars through information unwittingly passed on by his wife.
