InterVideo, Acer Settle Lawsuit Over DVD Patents

Law360, New York (November 2, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- California-based DVD software maker InterVideo Inc has settled a lawsuit that accused Taiwanese computer maker Acer Inc. of infringing on patents related to integrating computer and electronic device functions.

As part of the settlement, InterVideo will license its InterVideo InstantON patents to Compal Electronics, Inc., the company that manufactures Acer's PCs. InterVideo and Compal will partner in developing multimedia applications and portable consumer electronic devices
