Obama Taps Ex-Utility Co. Exec As Commerce Secretary

Law360, New York (May 31, 2011, 7:31 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama announced Tuesday that he would nominate John Bryson, a former utility company executive and the co-founder of an outspoken environmental organization, as the next secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The president touted Bryson's background in the public and private sectors and said he was confident the long-time alternative energy advocate would help achieve a stated goal of doubling the nation's exports by working with companies at home and representing American interests abroad.
