Infomercial Star Gets 11 Years For Mortgage Fraud

Law360, New York (June 3, 2011, 7:36 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal judge sentenced the star of an infomercial on making money from real estate to 11 years in prison on Thursday for orchestrating a multimillion-dollar mortgage fraud scheme in the Dallas area.

U.S. District Judge Sam A. Lindsay also ordered Eric Rulack Farrington, 58, to pay about $2.5 million in restitution and forfeit approximately $1.2 million.

Farrington and seven other defendants were convicted in April of perpetrating a mortgage fraud scheme in the Dallas area from March 2002 until January 2006. The jury convicted...
