Lockheed Finds Way Out Of DataTern Patent Suit

Law360, New York (June 3, 2011, 5:29 PM EDT) -- Lockheed Martin Corp. on Friday became the first defendant to find an escape hatch in a DataTern Inc. patent suit in Texas over relational database technology, which targets nearly a dozen corporate giants.

DataTern and Lockheed Martin filed an agreed motion for dismissal, asking the court to approve Lockheed's exit from the case. An attorney for DataTern would not confirm Friday whether a settlement had been reached, and an attorney for Lockheed was not immediately available to comment.
