Barclays Loses $4B Asset Fight With Lehman Trustee

Law360, New York (June 6, 2011, 9:24 PM EDT) -- A New York bankruptcy judge on Monday rejected Barclays PLC's renewed effort to obtain $4 billion in disputed assets related to the sale of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s brokerage business, and awarded the Lehman trustee about $280 million in interest.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge James M. Peck delivered his decision dealing with what he characterized as Barclays' attempt to reargue an issue already decided in February — namely, the ownership rights of a collection of derivatives trading margin accounts now split between several parties.
