Firm Lied To Vioxx MDL Clients About Loans, Suit Says

Law360, New York (June 7, 2011, 7:31 PM EDT) -- A former client hit Eichholz Law Firm PC with a class action on Monday in Georgia alleging the firm tricked plaintiffs it represented in the Vioxx multidistrict litigation into taking out high-interest loans from a company secretly operated by Eichholz lawyers.

Eichholz Law represented about 400 clients in a multidistrict litigation in Louisiana against Merck & Co. Inc., which agreed to pay $4.85 billion in November 2007 to settle claims that its pain medication Vioxx caused patients to suffer heart attacks and strokes, according to a...
