NCAA Schools Accused Of Apparel Antitrust Scheme

Law360, Los Angeles (June 10, 2011, 5:00 PM EDT) -- Dechert LLP sent cease-and-desist letters to more than two dozen colleges and universities Thursday alleging that an initiative by their shared licensing agent to restrict the number of suppliers that can license collegiate trademark rights violates antitrust laws.

The letter campaign marks the start of what could be a bruising fight in the $4 billion annual college trademark licensing market, an important source of revenue for many schools.
