Vivendi Unit Sues Scent Maker Over MJ Perfume

Law360, New York (June 10, 2011, 8:27 PM EDT) -- A merchandizing arm of Vivendi SA's Universal Music Group sued a perfume maker on Wednesday in California federal court for making Michael Jackson-themed perfumes that allegedly infringe its Jackson trademarks and create unfair competition.

Bravado International Group Merchandising Services Inc. sued Julian Rouas Paris Inc. and its founder for selling the perfumes for men and women, which are promoted and endorsed by the dead pop legend's father, Joe Jackson.
