Live Nation, Rock Photog Settle Townshend Pic Suit

Law360, New York (June 13, 2011, 6:28 PM EDT) -- The merchandising arm of Live Nation Entertainment Inc. and a rock photographer resolved a copyright infringement suit over an iconic image of British rocker Pete Townshend in New York on Monday.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew Peck dismissed the case, closing the book on a brewing intellectual property fight between well-known rock photographer Ross Halfin and the merchandising unit of Live Nation, the world’s largest concert promoter. Terms of the settlement agreement were not disclosed.
