Shred-It To Settle Wage-And-Hour Class Action

Law360, Los Angeles (June 20, 2011, 8:58 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Monday granted preliminary approval to a settlement in a class action alleging that document destruction giant Shred-It USA Inc. shortchanged its hourly customer service representatives, deducting time for meal breaks they never took.

“The court has considered the motion for preliminary approval of the class action settlement, and the court will approve the settlement,” U.S. District Judge Stephen Wilson told attorneys Monday.
