Judge Broadens Class In Batali Group Tip Action

Law360, New York (June 23, 2011, 7:56 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday broadened the class of waitstaff at restaurants owned by Mario Batali who accuse the celebrity chef of skimming a share of each night's wine sales from the tip pool.

U.S. District Judge Richard J. Holwell said the plaintiffs' attorneys can send notice of the proposed collective action to anyone who worked at the restaurants since November 2007, three years prior to the date originally agreed on by the defendants.
