Law360, New York (June 24, 2011, 2:38 PM EDT) -- Lawyers for a Halliburton Co. employee injured in the Deepwater Horizon rig explosion on Friday defended their client’s decision to invoke the Fifth Amendment during deposition without giving advance notice to BP PLC or other parties in the Louisiana-based spill litigation.
Kurt Arnold and Jason Itkin of Arnold & Itkin LLP said they didn’t believe they were obligated to disclose that Halliburton rig worker Cathleenia Willis would invoke her Fifth Amendment rights in deposition on June 21 and 22.
