Senator Doesn't Like The Sound Of XM-Sirius Deal

Law360, New York (May 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The chairman of a U.S. Senate subcommittee on antitrust and competition policy told regulators that allowing a merger between satellite radio providers XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio would result in higher prices and poorer service.

In a letter Wednesday, Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.) urged the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission and the head of the Department of Justice's Antitrust Division to block the proposed merger of XM and Sirius. The merger is currently under review by the FCC and the DOJ.
