Adelphia Founder, Son Lose Fraud Appeal

Law360 (May 24, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The founder of Adelphia Communications Corp., John Rigas, and his son Timothy face years behind bars after an appeals court upheld all but one of their multiple convictions for an accounting fraud scandal that engulfed the cable company.

The disgraced father and son have been free on bail awaiting the outcome of the appeal of the hefty sentences handed down for their roles in what the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission called one of the “most extensive financial frauds ever.”
