Protest Of $2B MetLife Military Dental Contract Nixed

Law360, New York (July 6, 2011, 6:01 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of Federal Claims on Tuesday entered final judgment denying United Concordia Cos. Inc.'s challenge to the award of a $1.9 billion U.S. Department of Defense contract to Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. to provide dental care to military families.

The court entered the judgment with no costs to either party, pursuant to Judge Eric G. Bruggink's sealed order and opinion of dismissal issued Friday. Because the opinion is sealed, the judge's reasons for dismissing the case were not immediately clear.
