Friskit Seeks To Shut Out Howrey From Patent Case

Law360, New York (May 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Friskit Inc. has attempted to disqualify law firm Howrey LLP from defending rival RealNetworks Inc. in Friskit’s patent infringement case over streaming media technology.

The San Francisco-based technology licensing company wants to boot Howrey from the case in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California because prior to Howrey signing up as RealNetworks’ co-counsel, Friskit had consulted with Howrey about helping it bring this very case.
