Dick's Seeks To Quash Subpoenas In Kickbacks Case

Law360, New York (July 8, 2011, 6:44 PM EDT) -- Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. took exception Friday to subpoena requests from the retailer's former attorney in New York federal court, arguing that the documents had little to do with kickback allegations against him.

The sporting goods retailer, which is not a party to the case, says that attorney Benjamin Viloski's requests for documents about the profitability of over two dozen stores, studies the retailer conducted before entering into lease agreements and board meeting minutes are not allowed under federal criminal procedure rules.
