States Consider Law Against Office Bullies

Law360 (May 29, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A dozen U.S. states are considering legislation that aims to crackdown on workplace bullying, but some employment attorneys worry that making office bullying illegal would lead to a wave of frivolous lawsuits.

Vermont is the latest state to introduce legislation that would make it an unlawful employment practice to subject an employee to an abusive work environment, such as verbal abuse or threatening and intimidating conduct.
