Angry Birds Developer Aims Copyright Suit At Toy Maker

Law360, New York (July 12, 2011, 6:52 PM EDT) -- Angry Birds developer Rovio Mobile Oy launched a suit against Ideal Toys Direct Inc. in New York on Monday, accusing the toy maker of leeching off Rovio's intellectual property by making plush toys based on the game's designs.

According to the complaint, Ideal Toys and its president, Henry Fischer, are deliberately copying the iconic images used in the popular game to produce stuffed toys designed to “confuse customers and aid in the promotion and sales of its unauthorized product.”
