Damages May Stymie First American Class Cert.: Judge

Law360, Los Angeles (July 13, 2011, 7:40 PM EDT) -- A California state judge said Tuesday he may not certify a proposed class action accusing First American Title Insurance Co. of paying lenders kickbacks to funnel customers to it, since he is unsure how to award damages if the plaintiffs prevail.
