Calif. Court Denies Class In Farmers Life Policies Suit

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 6:34 PM EDT) -- A California appeals court on Wednesday upheld a decision to deny class certification to two Farmers Group Inc. customers who claimed the company systematically misled customers about its universal life insurance policies, saying the allegations did not apply to all policyholders.

The lower court correctly ruled that the plaintiffs' allegations have no common issue and can't be applied to an entire class, according to the three-judge panel of the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District.
