Judge Convicted Of Lying To FBI Denied New Trial

Law360, New York (July 14, 2011, 9:38 PM EDT) -- A former Ohio judge convicted of lying to the FBI lost a bid for a new trial Thursday in a case alleging she took bribes in exchange for fixing cases and helping to influence the award of government contracts.

Former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Bridget M. McCafferty was convicted in March on 10 counts of making false statements to law enforcement about whether a Cuyahoga County Commissioner had attempted to influence cases before her.
