Class Member Objects To $100M AmEx Settlement

Law360, New York (May 31, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- At least one member of the putative class in a securities suit against American Express Co. will appear at an upcoming hearing to contest a $100 million settlement deal which is pending court approval, court papers say.

On Wednesday, an objection to the settlement was filed on behalf of Earl Wells, a member of the settlement class plaintiffs' attorneys have asked the court to certify.
