Country Club Says DuPont Herbicide Destroyed Trees

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 2:13 PM EDT) -- A Michigan country club slapped DuPont Co. with a class action Friday in Delaware claiming that Imprelis — an herbicide the company touted as environmentally friendly — killed thousands of mature pine and spruce trees.

The complaint — filed by Polo Fields Golf & Country Club LLC, Washtenaw Acquisition LLC and Polo Fields East LLC — claims Imprelis has caused potentially millions of dollars in damage nationwide. It adds that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is investigating a possible link between the herbicide and tree deaths....
