Universal Electronics Sues Logitech Over Remote IP

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 6:07 PM EDT) -- Universal Electronics Inc. lodged a suit in California federal court Friday accusing Logitech Inc. of infringing 17 patents related to remote control technology after a licensing agreement between the companies expired.

The complaint argues that Logitech's remote control products — including its Harmony-brand remotes and the Logitech Revue for Google TV — violate the patents-in-suit, which Logitech had previously licensed.
