EEOC Hits Chicago Hospital With Bias Action

Law360, New York (July 15, 2011, 6:31 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a putative class action Thursday in Illinois federal court alleging a Chicago hospital discriminated against black female employees by assigning them undesirable tasks.

The EEOC argues that its investigation has revealed that numerous black female medical technicians at the hospital were required to perform tasks that were never assigned to male counterparts of other races. Neither the complaint nor an EEOC statement specified what the undesirable tasks were.
