$132M China Expert Fraud Suit Survives Dismissal Bid

Law360, New York (July 21, 2011, 4:00 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday refused to dismiss a putative shareholder class action accusing China Expert Technology Inc.'s auditing firms of abetting the company's $132 million fraud.

U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein issued two orders denying motions to dismiss filed by PKF Hong Kong, PKF New York and BDO McCabe Lo Ltd., which were allegedly complicit in China Expert's fraud because they did not properly survey the company's financial records for fiscal years 2003, 2004 and 2005.
