Zurich Sues Sony Over PlayStation Hacking Coverage

Law360, New York (July 20, 2011, 9:05 PM EDT) -- Zurich American Insurance Co. sued Sony Corp. on Wednesday in New York state court, seeking a declaration that it has no duty to defend or indemnify the company in dozens of lawsuits springing from the hacking of Sony's PlayStation Network.

In April, the network, which among other functions allows users to play video games with other PSN users around the world, was hacked. The hackers stole personal information including names, addresses, birth dates and, potentially, credit card and bank account information. Sony shut down the network...
