Xe Whistleblowers’ $123M Damage Estimate Nixed

Law360, New York (July 22, 2011, 7:22 PM EDT) -- A Virginia federal judge on Friday barred the $123 million damages estimate of former Blackwater Worldwide employees in an upcoming civil trial against the contractor, now known as Xe Services LLC, which they accuse of overbilling the U.S. for security work.

U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis rejected an emergency motion by False Claims Act relators Brad and Melan Davis, who said the court's July 15 decision to block their damages estimates because they were provided too late would be "fundamentally unfair."
