Microsoft, Time Warner, Others Sued Over Anti-Spam IP

Law360, New York (July 25, 2011, 3:03 PM EDT) -- BuyerLeverage Email Solutions LLC accused several technology and telecommunications giants — including Microsoft Corp., AT&T Inc. and Time Warner Cable Inc. — on Thursday in Delaware of infringing five patents for anti-spam programs.

The Delaware-based patent-holding company claims that the defendants violate its patents by using an email certification program offered by Return Path Inc. designed to minimize unwanted emails by making it more expensive to send spam messages.
