Pentagon Unveils Rule On When 1 Bid Is Enough

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 6:09 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense proposed a rule Monday designed to better ensure a solicitation has attracted a competitive price in instances in which only one bid is received.

If only one bid is received on a solicitation that ran for less than 30 days, contracting officers must reopen the solicitation for at least 30 more days, according to the proposed rule.
