US Airs Disgraced Pol's Calls In Hospital Bribe Trial

Law360, New York (July 26, 2011, 8:59 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors in the New York federal trial of ex-MediSys Health Network CEO David P. Rosen on Tuesday played tapes of former legislator Anthony Seminerio trying to coax a state health official into facilitating a MediSys merger while he was allegedly taking bribes from Rosen.

In the recordings, Seminerio assured Rosen that former New York Deputy Secretary for Health and Human Services Dennis Whalen was “a dear friend” of his and offered to help when Rosen said he'd been encountering difficulties from the official.
