Law360, New York (November 23, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Only a month after it was slapped with a similar lawsuit by the largest union in the U.S., several New York Teamsters unions have filed a separate class-action lawsuit against Swedish-U.K. drug maker AstraZenca over the way it handled the patent expiration on blockbuster heartburn drug Prilosec.
The complaint charges that AstraZeneca deceptively promoted Nexium as a “more powerful and more effective” drug than Prilosec as the patent for Prilosec was set to expire in 2001.
