FTC Patent Expert Joins Google Amid Agency Probe

Law360, New York (August 3, 2011, 2:41 PM EDT) -- As Google Inc. faces a Federal Trade Commission investigation into its power in the Internet search market, the company confirmed Wednesday it had hired Suzanne Michel, a top FTC intellectual property official.

Michel, who has worked at the FTC since 2000, was most recently the deputy director of the agency's Office of Policy Planning. Google spokesman Aaron Zamost said she would join the company's legal team, but did not provide further information about her new role.
