Parmalat Fights BofA's Bid To Depose Former Exec

Law360, New York (June 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Continuing the fight over witnesses in the Parmalat securities litigation, a subsidiary of the Italian dairy king has asked a judge to bar Bank of America Corp. from taking the deposition of a former director of Parmalat Capital Finance Ltd. in Milan.

Attorneys for Parmalat Capital Finance, a Caymans Island-based subsidiary of Parmalat SpA, said in court documents filed Tuesday that U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan should issue a protective order prohibiting BofA from proceeding with the deposition because discovery closed on March 5.
