Lady Gaga Nailed With IP Suit Over 'Judas'

Law360, New York (August 3, 2011, 8:24 PM EDT) -- Stefani Germanotta, better-known as the pop star Lady Gaga, was hit Wednesday in Illinois federal court with a copyright suit claiming that her hit song “Judas” contains musical compositions copied from a Chicago musician's song “Juda.”

Rebecca Francescatti alleges that sound engineer Brian Gaynor of DJ White Shadow LLC copied the arrangement of her song and used it to to help Germanotta create “Judas” with the backing of Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Universal Music Group Inc.
