Atari Claims Trading Co. Botched Media Deal

Law360, New York (August 4, 2011, 12:49 PM EDT) -- Video game maker Atari Inc. sued Carlyle Trading Corp. on Wednesday in New York, alleging the inventory bartering company failed to uphold its end of a bargain to trade $800,000 worth of video game products for television advertising time.

Under a contract the companies signed in January 2010, Atari agreed to provide Carlyle Trading with $800,000 worth of video game inventory in exchange for advertising time that Carlyle Trading would obtain on Atari's behalf, according to the complaint.
