Pfizer Fights Bid To Keep Bextra Case In State Court

Law360, New York (June 6, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. has accused a plaintiff in a product liability suit of trying to thwart its efforts to remove the case to federal court by naming local field representatives as co-defendants.

In a removal notice filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, the drug maker claims plaintiff Louis Barrera, who is suing Pfizer over its anti-inflammatory drug Bextra, had dragged the companies' Texas drug reps into the suit to keep the case in state court.
