Ohio Judge Wants 6th Circ. Review Of Bribery Conviction

Law360, New York (August 4, 2011, 4:50 PM EDT) -- A former Ohio judge sentenced to 14 months in prison for lying to FBI agents during an investigation into bribery and corruption related to government contract bids said Thursday that she will appeal her conviction to the Sixth Circuit.

Former Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Bridget M. McCafferty also asked the Ohio federal court for a stay of her sentence pending the appeal or, in the alternative, a postponement of her sentence due to her mother's terminal illness.
