Hip-Hop Label Sues Amazon Over Counterfeit CDs

Law360, New York (August 8, 2011, 8:36 PM EDT) -- Hip-hop and R&B label TufAmerica Inc. sued Amazon.com Inc. in New York federal court on Friday, accusing the online retail giant of making and selling unlicensed and counterfeit CDs with Tuf-owned music and artwork.

Tuf accuses Amazon and its subsidiary On-Demand Publishing LLC of copyright infringement for selling more than 100 counterfeit CDs containing thousands of Tuf-owned songs. The suit also names music and video distributor The Orchard Enterprises Inc. as a co-defendant.
