Law360, New York (August 8, 2011, 7:46 PM EDT) -- The federal government and four states sued Education Management Corp. in Pennsylvania federal court on Monday, intervening in a whistleblower case brought by two former employees that accuses the for-profit college company of falsely claiming it was eligible for $11 billion in federal education funding.
The government said in May that it had planned to intervene in the case, which was originally filed by private citizens in 2007.
