Funds Resume Fight Over Enron Losses V. Merrill, Others

Law360, New York (August 11, 2011, 9:59 PM EDT) -- Several Canadian hedge funds on Thursday revived their $100 million Texas lawsuit that seeks to hold JPMorgan Chase & Co., Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., banks and underwriters accountable for losses stemming from the spectacular collapse of energy giant Enron Corp.

The suit had been put on hold for more than four years while lawyers hashed out a $7.2 billion settlement in a related class action, which also accused the financial institutions of aiding the massive fraud that helped demolish Enron and led to prison sentences...
